Renovation Brief:

Mr. and Mrs. Chippindale approached More Bathrooms with the requirement of making their bathroom future proofed and more accessible. With four adults in the home, the design requirement was that it be multi-generational in terms of style and accessibility.

The existing bathroom layout, which featured a bathtub and a quadrant shower, was becoming increasingly difficult to use. The high shower tray and the bath presented difficulties, and the couple was unsure of what options were available to them.

Shower Room Design:

Sourcing our expertise to create a functional, accessible, and comfortable bathroom, after conducting a thorough consultation and assessment of the existing space, we designed a tailored solution that focused on improving accessibility without compromising on comfort or aesthetic appeal.

The first step was to relocate the WC, which was originally positioned under the window. Moving it to the wall to the right of the door, opened up more space and improved the overall functionality of the room.

Next, we replaced the high-tray quadrant shower with a level access walk-in shower with glass screen. Installed along the left side of the bathroom, the design choice was crucial in not only making the shower accessible, but also opening up the rest of the room.

To further enhance safety and convenience, we built a bespoke corian bench within the shower area. This addition provided an option for seated use, which would be particularly beneficial for some uses while adding a luxury look and feel to the design.

Shower Room Installation:

The completed renovation transformed the bathroom into a space that is both accessible and visually appealing.

The walk-in shower now offers easy access while the bench within the shower adds an extra layer of comfort and safety, making the bathroom more user-friendly for all.

The new layout, enhanced by the relocation of the WC, creates a more spacious and functional environment that meets the Chippindales’ needs perfectly.
