Luxury Bathroom Transformation | Harrogate | More Bathrooms

Published: 23 October 2024

Renovation Brief:

Mr. and Mrs. Hamill were dissatisfied with their home's small bathroom and adjacent en-suite. Both rooms were compact and situated in the centre of the house without any windows, making them feel enclosed and dark. They sought a solution that would combine these spaces into a single, luxurious bathroom, offering both space and style.

Bathroom Design:

Under the guidance of our Senior Designer, Simon, we conducted a thorough onsite design assessment of the existing layout. The plan centred on knocking through the wall between the two rooms, creating a larger space that could accommodate a spacious, modern bathroom.

The new room design included a large walk-in shower, a freestanding bath, and a double vanity unit. One standout feature was the special-order shower glass, which could switch from clear to frosted at the flick of a switch—a detail inspired by a hotel the Hamills had recently stayed in.

To enhance accessibility and flow, the doorway into the bedroom was closed, and access to the new bathroom was through the original bathroom door. Mrs. Hamill, inspired by a display from our Harrogate Bathroom Showroom, opted for a dramatic design featuring black and wood-effect tiles.

Design Details:

A dwarf wall with an illuminated feature niche and a bespoke frosted glass panel was constructed to separate the bath from the new walk-in shower. The wall extended along the back of the room, providing a clean, modern backdrop for the black floor tiles, which continued up the walls to create a striking visual effect.

The plumbing for the wall-hung WC was cleverly concealed within the black boxing, while the double vanity unit—finished in black with a quartz worktop—was wall-mounted. The sit-on washbasins mirrored the curves of the freestanding bath, contributing to a cohesive look.

The feature area in the shower and around the bath was finished with large Cognac wood-effect tiles, adding warmth and texture to balance the darker tones. The room was completed with matching illuminated mirrors, recessed feature lighting, and a complementary black towel radiator.

Bathroom Installation:

Following the design, our Installations Surveyor, Joe, carried out a detailed survey to ensure all measurements and specifications were accurate. His precise work laid the foundation for a seamless installation process to conclude a well-executed fully project managed service.

Our Multi-Skilled Fitter, Darren, took over the installation with care and expertise. Adhering closely to the design specifications, he worked diligently to bring the Hamills' vision to life. Darren's attention to detail, from fitting the bespoke glass to ensuring the highest standards of workmanship throughout the room, resulted in a stunning transformation.

Customer Trust Pilot Review:

Mr. and Mrs. Hamill shared their delight with the project, leaving this glowing review on TrustPilot:

"I’m absolutely over the moon with my 2-bathroom conversion by the Passmore Group! From start to finish, with the design by Simon, the surveying by Joe and most of all the finish and workmanship by Darren! Our whole experience with the company has been outstanding and Darren the fitter has worked so hard, going above and beyond to complete everything, including every little detail to the highest standards! Thank you all so much and I highly recommend to anybody looking to have work done on their home."

Conclusion:

This luxury bathroom renovation for Mr. and Mrs. Hamill beautifully illustrates the potential of combining smaller spaces to create a stunning, functional area. With the design expertise of Simon, the precise surveying by Joe, and Darren's skilled installation, we delivered a fully project managed bathroom design and installation that is both practical and visually striking. The result is a space that exceeds the Hamills' expectations, offering a serene and luxurious retreat in their home.
