Modern Bathroom Case Study | Leeds | West Yorkshire
Published: 3 August 2016
Problem:
Mr & Mrs Longfield were a retired couple who had spent their working lives within an architectural background meaning they were very design orientated. There entire home was finished to a beautiful standard and although there existing bathroom was in fully working order it was a little dated in terms of look and feel. The couple wanted to completely renovate their existing suite in order to modernise it with the latest fixtures and fittings, bringing it up to date and in line with the rest of the home.
Solution:
More Bathrooms Surveyor & Designer, Paul Tarbard, spoke at lengths with the couple in order to fully understand exactly what design approach they were wanting to take. Having a clear directional focus allowed Paul to create a design that was consistent, desired and detailed to not only sit in line with the couple preferences but also the look and feel with the rest of the home.
Wanting to make the most of the available space which had a loft/attic-esk feel as a result of the large dorma styled windows Paul suggested the layout was to remain as such however focus to be given to the fixture choices and finishing touches. Modernising the suite Paul proposed fully tiling the floors & walls in a ditto grey porcelain textured tile, integrating wall mounted fixtures in the form of WC & basin, and finishing the specification with an over bath digital shower mixer and bi folding glass screen.
Although already light and bright as a result of the windows Paul transformed the overall look and feel with the integration of LED lighting to two key areas. Focusing on relaxation Paul incorporated recessed and floor level lighting in and around the bathing area taking the overall design from good to great.
Outcome:
The finished suite was a luxuriously modernised fully project managed transformation to be proud of. Not only did it perfectly achieve ‘dream bathroom’ status it did so in an elegant and well executed manner. The design and detail worked perfectly with the overall look and feel of the rest of the home thanks to Paul’s focused approach to this specific bathroom renovation.
What mr & mrs longfield said about more bathrooms:
“We would like to express our gratitude & appreciation for the excellent service we have experienced throughout this project. The time & effort put in by Paul in the early design stages to the commitment of Steve & Dave in carrying out the works, we have had nothing but superb service & attention to detail.
At all stages we were fully involved in making decisions and when things needed to be resolved as the work progressed, we were always consulted before a course of action agreed.
The finished product is everything we hoped it would be and we would not hesitate to recommend passmore to anybody seeking a high quality bathroom.”
